Q – When should I start brushing my baby's teeth or gums?

A – As soon as your child's first tooth erupts you should begin brushing his teeth.  Use a very soft toothbrush and brush very gently with a very small amount of toothpaste (try just dabbing a few of the bristles in the toothpaste).  You can start brushing without the toothpaste and then add toothpaste as the more solid foods are introduced into the diet.  Baby's gums should be rubbed with a warm, wet, soft cloth daily.
